Recommended by our seasoned North West Brisk Walkers, these three trails stand out for their scenery, atmosphere, and the simple joy of walking together.
1. Singapore Botanical Garden Loop Trail

Distance: 3.9km
Time taken: 1 to 1.5 hours
Difficulty: Easy
Need a quick nature escape? Go on an easy brisk walk through our very own UNESCO World Heritage Site – the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Follow a scenic loop that takes you past Swan Lake, the Learning Forest’s shaded canopy, and Palm Valley. Look out for sculptures along Heliconia Walk and as you near the Heritage Core, spot the historic Bandstand surrounded by Yellow Rain Trees.
Tip: Go early in the morning for cooler weather.
Why it's a hit: It's an easy route that mixes greenery, history, and art. Great for those wanting a refreshing city escape.
2. Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve Coastal Trail

Distance: 1.3km
Time taken: 30 to 40mins
Difficulty: Easy
Take a rejuvenating walk along this trail and immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and breeze of Singapore's coastline. You'll follow boardwalks that wind through mangroves and tidal flats. Keep an eye out for birds, the occasional monitor lizard and other animals. If you need a break, there are plenty of spots to pause and just enjoy the view or listen to the water.
Tip: Be sure to snap some Instagram-worthy photos with your walking ‘kakis’ at the pod-like structures along the trail like Eagle Point or Kingfisher Pod.
Why it's a hit: Fresh air, natural scenery and wildlife make this lively walk an adventurous and fun outing with friends.
3. Walking Trails @ CDC – North West Trail

Time taken: approximately 2.5 hours
Difficulty: Moderate to challenging
Kick your brisk walk up a notch by hitting the North West Trail, one of five routes of Walking Trails @ CDC. Your starting point for this curated trail will be the walkway outside Cashew MRT. Follow the map to reach your end destination: the Bukit Timah Railway Station. Complete all 5 checkpoints along the route and catch the digital owls called Ollies to unlock RedeemSG shopping vouchers!
Tip: To join the quest, create your account using your SingPass so that you can gain access to your map and checkpoints! Set this up before the start of your walk. Don’t forget to keep your phone fully charged.
