Green efforts never stop in #ourNorthWest! From innovative student-led green ideas at Green Bootcamp @ North West 2025 to creative fashion recycling and upcycling ideas at the North West Sustainability Festival 2025, these events show that sustainability can be fun, creative and inspiring.
Here's where all the action happened.
Green Bootcamp @ North West
Built around the theme of recycling and upcycling, this year's edition of Green Bootcamp @ North West was designed to empower youths to come up with innovative, practical ideas for sustainability, while inspiring future green leaders.
The youths participated in a Design Thinking Workshop led by Singapore Poly's UXC to learn how to better frame their problem statement and creative solutions, as well as learning journey to Razer and Gain City to learn on industry sustainability practices.
After weeks of mentoring and prototyping, the shortlisted teams pitched their recycling and upcycling solutions and prototypes on the finals day on 26 July 2025. The winning team was also showcased at the North West Sustainability Festival 2025.
Spotlight on the Winning Team: Goon Lagoon

We see a world where fast fashion leads to rising textile waste – and we want to change that. Our solution is built on three simple goals: repair what we can, repurpose what we can't and reduce what ends up in landfills.
- Team Goon Lagoon
The winning idea: Sewerz - a communal space that promotes sustainable fashion through a café concept and workshops.
What is it: It's a welcoming space where youths can learn to sew, rework their cloths, join workshops, share ideas, and build a community of like-minded people passionate about sustainable fashion.
What it hopes to achieve: By combining accessibility, comfort, and camaraderie, we hope to inspire individuals to bring their creative visions to life, while moving towards a greener future.
What you can do at Sewerz:
• Learn to sew
• Repair and rework clothes
• Make clothes
• Attend workshops to learn embroidery or basic clothes repairs
• Meet like-minded people
• Have a coffee or pastry while our staff help you fix your clothes!

North West Sustainability Festival 2025 @ Northpoint City
The North West Sustainability Festival 2025, held at Northpoint City from 29 to 31 August 2025, brought the community together for three days of sustainable living and fashion innovation. Exhibitions, hands-on workshops, and interactive experiences like AR recycling activities and VR experiences inspired visitors to see eco-friendly living in a fresh, creative way.

Re:Style 60 Fashion Contest
This contest showed how fashion and sustainability can come together! Participants turned pre-loved and upcycled materials into runway-ready red and white SG60-themed looks.

Fashion Runway Showcase
Children and youths strutted down the runway, showcasing how they put together SG60 inspired outfits using recycled or upcycled materials. What a great way to showcase creativity and engage in sustainability in an impactful way.
Upcycling inspirations
At the workshops, visitors learnt creative ways to turn unwanted materials into stylish everyday items.
